Andy Pickett
Barrister
Having enjoyed a successful career performing senior executive roles in international commercial organisations, Andy chose to retain and focus his evident skills as a communicator on a career at the Bar.
Deploying a persuasive, advocacy style, born out of a confidence in his thorough preparations, Andy is adept at representing clients in both Criminal and Civil settings. In particular, those instructing appreciate his client-centric approach. This focus on ensuring lay clients feel listened to and fully comprehend the proceedings is enviable and stems from his 25 years’ experience assisting commercial clients.
During his non-qualifying period of pupillage, Andy was supervised by Chris Smyth and James Bromige. Prior to commencing pupillage, Andy volunteered at the Bristol Law Centre and regularly represented clients in tribunal hearings, which gained him a valuable insight and grounding into various areas of law.
Interests:
Andy is a keen sportsman and plays rugby and cricket for local teams as well as competing in triathlons. He is currently vice-chairman of his local Parish Council, and also enjoys recreational sailing with his family, skiing and cider-making.
