Insolvency
Whether corporate or personal insolvency is at stake, we have the experience and knowledge to advise and represent clients both at advisory stages and throughout the Court proceedings.
We acknowledge that insolvency cases bring their own particular pressures and we are able to offer measured, informed advice and representation based around flexible funding solutions. Our open friendly approach, allied to a keen eye for detail ensures that our team is able to offer solicitors and clients the best possible service.
Given the nature of these matters we are able to attend hearings at short notice and provide a quick turn-around where advice is urgently required. Areas of expertise within the team include;
- Personal insolvency
- Corporate insolvency
- Freezing orders
- Directors’ disqualification proceedings
- Partnership break-up and shareholder disputes.
The team have also recently been instructed in cases involving recoveries against the directors of insolvent companies, the interplay of insolvency law and limitation and the impact upon sub lessees.
We assist with the full range of hearings related to Insolvency proceedings including applications to set aside statutory demands, to resist winding up partitions as well as related hearings such as possession proceedings and debt recovery.
In addition to this team, Queen Square Chambers has a closely related Commercial team who specialise in contract disputes and Companies Act matters.
Members of Queen Square Chambers have considerable experience in asset recovery including acting for private individuals following orders for the division of property on divorce and acting for the Crown in seeking recovery of assets in the civil courts following criminal proceedings.
