Ieuan Callaghan

Ieuan has proved himself a formidable advocate and opponent since undertaking his own instructions. Initially honing his craft in the Magistrates Court, he is now regularly acting in Crown Court matters for both Prosecution and Defence and recent instructions have included;

R v T – Demonstrating his skill and experience in cases involving chronic domestic violence, Ieuan conducted a successful evidence-led Prosecution when the Complainant withdrew her support. The CPS have since asked to use the case as an example of how to prosecute such cases.

R v B – Secured acquittal of client charged with 10 offences of indecent exposure and outraging public decency. Careful dismantling of failures in correct identification procedures was critical to success.

R v D – Accommodating and assisting a vulnerable Complainant with multiple difficulties giving evidence, Ieuan successfully prosecuted the Defendant (an ex-partner) for stalking.
