Michael is undertaking a common law pupillage encompassing a broad range of civil, employment and criminal law work. Counsel has a particular interest in civil litigation and especially matters arising out of contract, land or property disputes.

Counsel has been supervised by Ruth Armstrong and James Tucker, seeing a range of hearings across county and criminal courts. In addition he has also shadowed Hamish MacBean and James Bromige to encounter a full spectrum of civil and employment disputes. Michael is a detailed lawyer with a real love for researching technical legal points or unknotting factually dense cases. He finds satisfaction in completing thorough written advices to find the best path forward.

Prior to pupillage, Counsel developed a number of skills to help him succeed in his legal career. As part of his extensive legal voluntary work, Michael conducted conferences with members of the public, researched niche areas of law and drafted written advice on a broad range of legal matters.

Counsel has also seen numerous successes in mooting, be that at university, national or international level, grasping this opportunity to develop and hone his advocacy skills.

Michael is fluent in Polish and has worked as an amateur translator in a number of legal, diplomatic and commercial settings.

Interests:
Michael is a keen sailor, having sailed thousands of miles around the coasts of the English Channel. He also enjoys all other forms of outdoor activities. Michael spent five years as a leader in Scouting where he supported Cubs and Scouts in pursuing their own interest in the great outdoors.
