Crime – Western (Bar)
Band 1
A junior with a strong reputation in criminal matters, who focuses his practice on fraud and business crime, sexual abuse matters and murder. His regulatory work involves acting in a range of health and safety and trading standards cases. He is well equipped to deal with young and vulnerable witnesses, as well as defendants with mental illness.
Strengths: “He is extremely conscientious and hard-working, covering every aspect of the case in detail.”
Crime – Western (Bar)
Band 3
Specialises in handling sexual offence claims, particularly those that involve crimes against children and accusations of historic sexual abuse. He is frequently instructed in cases that concern drug conspiracies, fraud and matters involving firearm legislation. He also prosecutes for the Maritime and Coastguard Agency.
Strengths: “Excellent with clients and always up for a good scrap.”
Recent work: Successfully prosecuted multiple members of an organised crime group who were trafficking drugs between London, Birmingham and Gloucester.
Employment – Western (Bar)
Band 4
Represents claimants and respondents in relation to large-scale claims in discrimination, equal pay and TUPE.
Strengths: “Highly skilled in technical legal issues and is confident and convincing. Clients are often impressed by his performance at the tribunal.”
Recent work: Acted unled for the president of the Scottish Housing and Property Tribunal in claims for equal pay and part-time working detriments against the devolved Scottish Government for payment arrears, rate of pay, pension and holiday benefits.
