Queen Square Chambers welcomes criminal barrister Tabitha Macfarlane

Chambers are delighted to announce that Tabitha Macfarlane has joined the Queen Square Chambers Criminal Department.

During the past twelve years, Tabby, as she prefers to be known, has operated as a sole practitioner establishing herself as a formidable defence advocate, routinely accepting instructions in complex and sensitive cases, ranging from Fraud to Murder.

She specialises in representing clients with serious mental health concerns, having handled a significant number of very sensitive cases. Always ensuring her clients are fully supported throughout the life of their court case.

Senior Criminal Clerk Colleen said:

“Tabby is a fantastic addition to our team. Many of our members have acted as co-defendant counsel alongside Tabby and have always commended her approach to client management and court room presence.

Bringing such an experienced advocate into the department will undoubtedly benefit the whole team and I am very excited to see the continued development of Tabby’s practice.”

Head of Crime, Chris Smyth, said:

“Tabby will be a real asset to the crime team, bringing her experience, enthusiasm and commitment to Chambers. She is a popular member of the Bristol Bar and all members of the team look forward to working alongside her. She will complement the breath and individualism of the criminal department.”
