Lauren commenced pupillage at Queen Square Chambers in 2025 supervised by Adam Griffiths and Mike Blitz. In this period she has had the opportunity to shadow on a wide range of Employment, Commercial and Property matters. This exposure to complex Civil Litigation has only enhanced Lauren’s credentials as a commercially minded, detailed lawyer.

Prior to joining Queen Square, Lauren studied law at the University of Exeter. It was during her time at Exeter that Counsel developed her passion for advocacy, enjoying considerable success in Moots. Of particular note was Counsel’s success in the ‘Centenary Moot’ which highlighted Lauren’s particular skill in complex contract law matters as she skillfully navigated an involved contract interpretation issue.

Lauren’s volunteer work at the Free Representation Unit provided her with an excellent opportunity to represent Clients facing Equality Act issues. Working with Clients and representing them at First Tier Tribunal gave Counsel an understanding of just how emotive Equality Act issues can be and a desire to work in this area particularly in the sphere of Employment Law.

Counsel has also volunteered as a case worker at the University of Exeter Access to Justice Clinic where she advised client on a range of Civil matters, finding pragmatic solutions to further her client’s cause. Lauren’s grounding throughout her studies and pupillage in Civil Litigation demonstrates a desire to gain practical experience alongside absorbing legal, tactical and advocacy skills from her supervisors. Possessing an approachable yet commercial mindset helps to ensure Lauren is ideally placed to assist with suitable instructions across a range of disputes.

In undertaking her Common Law Pupillage, Counsel has also had the opportunity to see a range of other matters including Criminal proceedings in both the Magistrates and Crown Court. This has dovetailed nicely with Lauren’s previous work as a paralegal at a public law firm which brought in to focus the time sensitive nature of this work, and the importance of timely administration of cases she is involved in. Intent on working as a close unit with Solicitor and Client, Counsel places value on clear and regular communication.

Lauren has a keen interest in Clinical Negligence and Personal Injury claims stemming from her time volunteering at  ‘Action against Medical Accidents’. This role ultilised Counsel’s calm and empathetic manner and involved her assisting people at the earliest stage of the claim. Lauren enjoyed the varied nature of the claims and the responsibility of providing swift, accurate advice so matters could proceed in their strongest possible form from the outset.

Outside work Lauren previously competed at both National and International Competitions as a high level Swimmer. She still enjoys fitness and is currently training for her first London Marathon.
