Professor Ruth Morgan (MA (Oxon), D.Phil)

The Founder and Director of the UCL Centre for the Forensic Sciences and Professor of Crime and Forensic Science at UCL. The Centre facilitates a network of researchers from a wide range of different disciplines, to enable a strategic and multidisciplinary research programme in collaboration with external partners and forensic science stakeholders. Professor Morgan was the co-recipient of the PW Allen Award from the Chartered Society of Forensic Sciences in both 2006 and 2017. She was the Specialist Adviser to the House of Lords Science and Technology Committee inquiry into Forensic Science (2018-19).  She sits on a number of advisory bodies including groups at the Home Office, Inns of Court College of Advocacy, and the Knowledge Transfer Network, and is the Vice Chair of the London Geological Society Forensic Geoscience Group.
